This twisted take on a traditional side of green beans was born out of necessity. I was visitin’ with friends at the Memphis in May barbecue championship and was asked to prepare a dish to go along with the wonderful hog that the Beached Pig BBQ team had roasted. Seein’ what limited ingredients I had to work with, I concocted my Blistered Beans with Bacon and Bourbon. It was a hit with the crowd, and I have been makin’ it ever’ since.
