Heirloom ’Mater Galette

What on earth is a galette, you may ask. Well, I can help y’all out with that. A galette is a round, flat pastry base, topped with sweet or savory ingredients and the edges of the pastry turned in. I think of it as a rustic pie, baked without a pan. Speakin’ of pie, this recipe is my twist on a real Southern treat, ’mater pie. This is a great side for brunch, lunch, or dinner and will have y’all droolin’ like a newborn baby.
