Any granola that’s good will also be good in bar form, so feel free to use any of the variations or just the basic granola recipe for these bars. Once you have your granola cooked up, these are really simple to make and are a tasty snack for the road.

  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup nut butter (I prefer peanut butter)
  • cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup sunflower oil or any neutral oil
  • 4 cups prepared granola

    1. Mix honey, nut butter, brown sugar, and oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until it begins to bubble and all the ingredients are melted together.
    2. Pour the hot syrup over the granola in a large bowl. Stir well.
    3. Pack the mixture into an 8 × 8-inch baking dish. Press down on it to compress the oats.
    4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
    5. Slice into ten to twelve even bars and store in an airtight bag; they will keep fine for a few weeks.
