This is a classic breakfast item, and with good reason. It combines three terrific breakfast foods: granola, yogurt, and fruit. The key to parfait success is all about the ratio. Don’t screw with the ratio.

If you can’t find good fresh berries, frozen are okay. You can also make these guys the night before and store them in the fridge so breakfast is ready and waiting when you wake up.

  • 1⅓ cups yogurt
  • 1⅓ cups granola
  • 1⅓ cups fresh or frozen berries (I like blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries)
  • 2 tablespoons honey

    1. If you are using frozen berries, thaw them on low power in the microwave until they are just thawed. You don’t want them warm at all. Once they are thawed, drain them on a few paper towels so some of the liquid can be removed.
    2. Add cup yogurt to each of two tall, slender glasses.
    3. Top with cup granola in each glass. Drizzle the granola with a small amount of honey.
    4. Top with cup berries.
    5. Repeat the layers using the same amounts. Sprinkle a bit of extra granola on top if you wish.
    6. Serve immediately, or make the night before and store in the fridge.
