A rich and thick milkshake is one of my absolute favorite desserts. Actually, sometimes I like to go crazy and have one with a burger, but that’s neither here nor there. The point is this: When you have a quart of nice homemade ice cream in your freezer, you can really take your milkshakes to the next level. Below are the proportions for one of my personal favorite shakes, but also try any toppings from the Banana Split. Go crazy!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ice cream (vanilla works best)
  • cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • Whipped cream

Method

  1. Add ice cream to a blender. Scoop in peanut butter. Pour in milk, vanilla extract, and cocoa powder.
  2. Blend until smooth. Add more milk if the shake is really thick or you just want it thinner.
  3. Pour into two tall glasses and top with whipped cream and any of the optional toppings.
