This salty, spicy paste is mild compared to most hot chile pastes. Thinned with a little water, it’s remarkably similar to Korean gochujang, an essential seasoning sauce in Korean cuisine. Additional water will turn it into a flavorful liquid that can replace Tabasco or other commercial hot sauces. A dab of the paste mixed into foods will pump up the flavor considerably.
