  • About

This effortless sauce is quite luscious and can be used in place of white sauce in most conventional recipes or used as a gravy spooned over baked tempeh or tofu, mashed or baked potatoes, or rice-and-veggie bowls.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons no-salt-added creamy peanut butter
  • 4 tablespoons almond butter, tahini, or additional peanut butter

Method

Put the peanut butter, almond butter, miso, and lemon juice in a small bowl and stir well to make a thick paste. Gradually stir or whisk in the water, using just enough to achieve the desired consistency; beat vigorously after each addition until smooth and creamy. Alternatively, put all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.

Serve immediately or, to warm the gravy furth
