The cabbage can be cooked in the morning of the day it is to be eaten. Before serving, add the grapes and reheat in the butter. It is good with the Marinated Pigeon Breasts.

Ingredients

  • 6 lb/2.7 kg red cabbage, cored and finely shredded

Method

Put the cabbage into a very large saucepan, or two saucepans. Add ¾ pint/420 ml of water, the vinegar, sugar and seasoning. Cover the saucepan(s) tightly and cook gently for at least 1 hour until the cabba
