This is one of those special occasion dishes which take about 5 minutes to prepare and another 5 minutes to put together. If you are making it for non-meat eaters you obviously won’t want to include the bacon, so I suggest chopped cashew nuts which have been fried in a small amount of butter with a pinch or two of salt. This gives a good contrasting crunchy texture, as well as a complementary taste.
