Bacon, Egg and Lettuce Rolls

These are the rolls I make for a picnic when I am stuck for an idea, because I know that they are the family favourite. It is generally recognized within our family that my mother makes the best egg and bacon rolls – she is a dab hand at many other things besides – but these come a close second to hers.
