This yummy pie has a hint of coffee in the flavouring, which combines so well with the chocolate and the pecans. Pecans are widely available now in good grocer’s shops and delicatessens. They are not always in the freshest condition, though, and I always put them in a saucepan over a moderate heat, shaking them from time to time to prevent them from burning, for 5–7 minutes, then cool them, and this freshens them up.
