To many people, suet puddings are still redolent of institutions. This is really sad, because a good steamed pudding, as long as it has a generous and flavour-packed filling, really beats fruit pie. It is easy to make, too. This is real Sunday lunch stuff, and is always greatly appreciated. Lemon and blackberries go together extremely well, and in this pudding there is also butter and brown sugar – the combined flavours are heavenly. I use this quantity of suet pastry to line a pudding bowl
