This recipe is used by Peter Macpherson, who makes the scones freshly each morning at the hotel, for breakfast.

Ingredients

  • lb/675 g self-raising flour
  • 1 rounded tsp salt

Method

Sieve the dry ingredients together into a mixing bowl. Beat together the eggs and oil in a measuring jug and make up to 1 pint/570 ml with milk. Stir the egg, oil and milk mixture into the dry ingredients.
