This simple spread complements most varieties of madeleines and keeps well refrigerated in a covered container. For variety, consider adding a pinch or two of cinnamon, grated lemon or orange peel, or toasted pecans.
Place butter in a stand mixer and beat on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add honey, vanilla, and salt and beat for another 3 or 4 minutes, until fluffy and smooth.
Spoon into a container with a tight-fitting lid. The honey butter will keep refrigerated for several weeks.
