Red Onion Sambol

The Sinhalese name for this sambol, lunumiris, is such a great-sounding word. In fact, because lunu means “onion,” and miris is “chile,” it means “onion-chile,” a perfect name for almost any sambol. We use red onions or Asian shallots.
