In the Hindu calendar there are three lunar months each year that are particularly auspicious for marriage, and one of those months falls more or less in November. This means that if you’re traveling in Nepal or India during November (which is a nice time of the year, cool and dry), there’s a great likelihood that you’ll encounter a wedding (or two or three) several times a week.

From a food point of view, weddings in Nepal are especially fun to observe. A wedding crowd will sit on
