This dough’s consistency is great for making cutout cookies. Do not skip the chilling step.

Method

In the bowl of a stand-up electric mixer, beat butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in maple extract and syrup until combined.

In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; add to butter mixture, mixing until incorporated.

Roll dough to ¼-inch thickness between two sheets of parchment paper. Lift and place on a cookie sheet, and chill 1 to 2
