These nuts are great in a salad or as an accompaniment to a cheese plate. Try them alongside an aged cheddar or a sheep’s milk cheese.
Heat a dry skillet over medium-high heat. Add maple syrup and walnuts, gently folding and stirring to coat, about 3 minutes or until caramelized. While nuts are hot and a bit sticky, sprinkle with salt and maple sugar. Dump out onto aluminum foil; let cool and harden. Break and peel nuts off foil.
