One of the simplest of semifreddi whose disarmingly homey flavor makes it one of our own family favorites. It is nothing more complicated than whipped cream and grated chocolate frozen into a loaf.

Ingredients

  • 2-cups heavy cream, kept very cold
  • cups confectioners’ sugar

Method

  1. Whip the cream. Before it stiffens, while it is still the consistency of buttermilk, add the confectioners’ sugar a little at a time and continue whipping.
  2. When all the sugar has been incorporated, and you have whipped the cream until it is stiff enough to form peaks, add the grated chocolate, mixing it in thoroughly.
