  • 125 ml caster sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 6 clove-


Heat the sugar, cinnamon stick and lemon slices in the water, and before it reaches boiling point, turn off the heat and let stand for 30 minutes.

Strain the spiced water and return to the pan. Add the wine and stir until well mixed. Heat again slowly until just before boiling point, stirring gently, then remove from the heat to serve.
