A delicious accompaniment to any curry, this is a simple, throw-together dish. Cumin is the signature note here, but you can play with other spice combinations, such as substituting the cumin seeds for panch phoron, or mustard seeds for a nuttier flavour.


  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 brown onion</
