Chai-Spiced Clementine & Maple Hot Toddy

An Indian take on the classic hot toddy – a gorgeous winter warmer. Swap the clementines for other citrus fruit if you want, such as blood oranges when they are in season. I also think this is a great pick-me-up drink for when you’re feeling a bit under the weather.

Ingredients

  • 1 clementine
  • 1 chai tea bag
  • 3 cloves
  • 1–2

Method

  1. Cut a slice out of your clementine to keep for serving, then juice the rest.
  2. Use the mug or glass you are going to drink out of to measure some water, then add this to a saucepan along with the chai tea bag, the cloves, maple syrup, clementine juice and a pinch of black pepper. Bring to the boil, then reduce to a low simmer for 5 minutes.
