Corsican Chickpea Salad

Corsica is a traditionally poor and isolated island, but because it’s a part of France, French culture is embedded in the life there. Nevertheless, having had an historical relationship with Italy, Italian culture is also evident in aspects of Corsican culture such as foods, as demonstrated in the Italian name of this dish of chickpeas, insalata di ceci. Chickpeas are a popular food in the islands of the Mediterranean since they are a rugged plant grown in sandy soil in warm climates
