This is one of several blends popular in the eastern Mediterranean region for meat dishes, and vegetable stuffings.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon mixed pickling spice
  • 2 teaspoons allspice berries or 1 teasp

Method

Combine all the ingredients in an electric spice grinder or blender, and process until finely ground. Strain through a sieve. Store in a tightly covered jar at room temperature. Keeps fresh up to 3 months.
