This dense, round French bread is made with either rye or whole-wheat flour mixed with bread flour, and it results in a perfect all-around bread to accompany country pâtés and rillettes. When it turns a little stale, it’s perfect for stuffing a chicken. Slices are good in thick soups too. For best results, begin this bread two days in advance.
