I came up with this drink to use up the Meyer lemon juice left over from a batch of lemon confit. This takes me back to my teenage years in Greece in the 1990s, when I used to do shots at the now closed Disco Heaven in Hydra (yes, they were still called discos then). Ouzo is a bit of an acquired taste, but I find that the sweet lemon offsets the pronounced anise flavor in a nice way.
