I love using fruit in savory dishes. Sometimes when preparing a meal I have to double-check that I’ve included at least one side that is fruit free. Plums pair beautifully with savory food and are a great match for wilder lettuces, their sweet flesh and naturally tart skins complementing the bitter undertones in the mixed greens while adding flashes of bright purple and gold to the salad. The raspberry balsamic dressing echoes the jammy, dark-fruit flavor of the plums.
