You will find these sweet, spicy fruit and nut balls on every street corner in Morocco. The quantity of spices varies from cook to cook, and the secret to their delicious flavour is often in the amount of hashish used. For these are the infamous hashish balls, popular as a narcotic or as an aphrodisiac; however in this version the hashish is omitted (with some detriment to flavour!).
