For my money the absolutely perfect and only way to cook freshly picked corn is to boil it for a few minutes until done.

I read in one of Jean Anderson’s cookbooks never to add salt to the water in which you boil corn, but, if it isn’t as fresh as you’d like, add a tablespoon of sugar to the water to sweete
