Method

Position an oven rack about 4 inches (10 cm) from the heat source and preheat the broiler. Line a large sheet pan with aluminum foil.

Place the tomatillos, onion, garlic, and serranos on the prepared sheet pan, slip under the broiler, and broil the vegetables until blackened in spots on the top, about 6 minutes. Remove the garlic from the pan and flip the tomatillos, onion, and serranos
