Do you like carnitas tender or crispy? This recipe offers you both possibilities.
I have seen carnitas cooked with Coca-Cola or with sweetened condensed milk for a hint of sweetness. I have added brown sugar, which gives them a touch of molasses flavor and also adds a lightly caramelized coating. Here I am serving the carnitas in warm corn tortillas with a squeeze of lime, but they are also wonderful served atop tostadas or as a filling for burritos, quesadillas, or tortas.</
