    The word morambo in Gujarati comes from the Persian murabba, a sweet, spiced jam made of fruits, vegetables, or flowers. I’ve never been able to understand why so many Parsi households insist on rather horrid commercial Indian versions of temperate-climate fruit jams, when minimal effort and locally available materials provide such luscious options. For Parsis, a morambo can be served in either the savory or the sweet part of the meal, which is why we’ve included it on
