  • 1 cup (240 mL) milk
  • 3 medium-sized eggs
  • ½ cup (100 grams) sugar
  • 1 day-old baguette, cut into equal size slices (about 1 inch / cm thick)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 grams) butter



In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and sugar. Dunk baguette slices in the egg mixture, coating evenly. Melt butter on medium heat in a pan. Place batter-soaked bread slices in the pan and cook on each side, about 1–2 minutes each, until golden. Serve immediately topped with powdered or unrefined sugar or berry syrup.
