These delicious round savoury cornbreads are made from masarepa, a pre-cooked maize meal. They have been eaten in South America since before the arrival of Christopher Columbus. They are similar to Mexican gorditas and Salvadoran pupusas. They are loved all over South America but are now sought after and greatly enjoyed in this part of the world too.
