This is a classic Indonesian sauce which we associate with small kebabs called satay. It’s also good with crudités.
Heat the oil in a pan and cook the onion and garlic with the chilli until soft. Add the peanut butter, soy sauce, lemon juice, sugar and salt. Stir well and continue to cook until you have a smooth sauce. Take out the chilli and add the milk.
