In the Middle East and India, the combination of whisked yoghurt and water is a classic. It makes a deliciously refreshing summer drink.


  • 600 ml/1 pint/ cups plain yoghurt
  • 450 ml/12 fl oz/ cups water
  • salt (optional)
  • few sprigs of fresh mint
  • several lumps of ice


    Beat the yoghurt in a jug, then whisk in the water and a little salt if you like. Pour it into a thermos flask, add mint and several lumps of ice.
