A healthy alternative when you’re looking for a comforting hot breakfast treat.
Combine all the ingredients, except the butter or peanut butter, in a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring. After about 5 minutes, when it is good and thick, turn off the heat, add the butter or peanut butter and let it sit for about 1 minute so that the porridge can set and come away from the base of the pan.
Serve hot with fresh fruit, granola, the warm milk of your choice (cow's, soy, almond, etc.), seeds and the sweetener of your choice (light brown sugar, maple syrup, honey, etc.).
