  • About

Not to be confused with hot chocolate. The marshmallows on top are really key in this recipe.

  • tablespoons good quality cocoa powder (e.g. Van Houten®)
  • 100 ml ( fl oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ teaspoon natural vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 400 ml (14 fl oz) water marshmallows (as many as you like)

The Hot Cocoa

Combine the cocoa powder with 1½ tablespoons of the sweetened condensed milk. Add the remaining condensed milk, vanilla and salt, then pour everything into a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Gradually add the water, mixing with a spatula. Heat to just below boiling point and serve with cubes of marshmallow.
