Mirliton is a nonsense word from the refrain of old songs; it suggests a cheerful twirling of skirts and light feet and suits these little tarts well.
Preheat the oven. Roll out the pastry and line twelve greased tartlet tins. Put them into the refrigerator to chill for half an hour at least.
