Sirka Pyaaj, which means “vinegar-infused onions”, were always a part of the meal at Indian restaurants when we ate out with the family, whether it was at my favourite Pandara Road eateries or the famous Moti Mahal restaurant in the Greater Kailash area in South Delhi where we went to celebrate special birthdays and occasions.
