Blending a mix of frozen ripe stone fruits is a great way to beat the heat of summer. We’ve used plum, nectarine, and cherry here, but experiment with the same amount of whatever ripe seasonal fruits you have on hand. For example, peaches or berries would be a terrific addition.

Ingredients

  • 2 plums, pitted and coarsely chopped
  • 2 nectarines, pitted and coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup cherries

Method

Spread the plum, nectarines, and cherries in a single layer on a small sheet pan and put into the freezer until frozen, at least 2 hours.

In a blender, combine the frozen fruits, orange and lemon juices, and vanilla and purée, slowly increasing the blender speed to high, until smooth, 1–2 minutes. Add honey to taste if desired and purée briefly to combine. If the smoothie seems too thic
