The time-honored BLT gets the California treatment with the addition of creamy avocado and garlicky aioli. Although it’s best enjoyed in summer, when seasonal tomatoes fill local markets, you can make it in winter with slow-roasted tomatoes. For a big party, build mini versions on slider rolls.
In a frying pan over medium-low heat, cook the bacon, turning once or twice, until the fat renders and the bacon becomes crispy, about 8 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
Lay the bread slices on a cutting board. Spread one side of each bread slice with the aioli, dividing it evenly. Arrange an avocado half on 2 of the aioli-covered slices, spreading the slices in an even layer
