Anyone who has tried this salad out of our deli case knows how uncommonly delicious and well-balanced it is. We like broccoli, but on its own it can be pretty boring. Add toasted almonds, salty bacon, and sweet grapes, dress everything with a creamy-sweet-tart dressing, and magic happens.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup slivered blanched almonds
  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped

Method

In a frying pan over medium-low heat, toast the almonds, stirring often, until golden, about 3 minutes. Transfer two-thirds of the almonds to a large bowl and put the remaining almonds in a small bowl.

In the same pan over medium-low heat, cook the bacon, stirring once or twice, until the fat renders and the bacon becomes crispy, about 6 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer to paper
