Egg-fried sandwiches work so well as starters or snacks. Basically they are sandwiches dipped in beaten egg, then fried in oil and butter until golden brown. The sandwich takes on a whole new texture and taste. These will give you a completely new croque monsieur, simply dip it into the egg and fry.
Of course, there are many combinations of savoury fillings, whether meat, fish or vegetarian. The recipe I’m going to give you is vegetarian, with an Italian feel.
