These eat really well as a vegetable or to serve with another dish. Grilled chicken breasts or wings is delicious with these sweet and sour onions, as is grilled or sautéed liver. But one of my favourites is roast turbot or halibut with the onions trickling over, giving that sweet and sour flavour to work with the bitter-sweetness of the fish.
