Ingredients

  • 1 live wild abalone (about 1 kg/2 lb 4 oz) in the shell, shucked, gutted and cleaned

Method

Using a rock or meat mallet, gently pound the abalone to tenderise, then return it to its shell. Place, shell down, in the embers of the fire and gently cook for 10–15 minutes or until cooked.
