With the preparation done beforehand, these tarts need only a few moments of your time when they are to be served. The tarts are more successful made individually as opposed to one big one as the Vanilla Cream is not made to be cut and hold its shape. The only trick is to have a blow torch on hand, easily acquired with refillable gas containers from any hardware shop for minimal cost. It works more effectively than a brulée iron in this instance and a griller will only heat the custard too
