This has been a popular recipe since my childhood. It’s usually made with a prepared scone mix, but that’s easy enough to duplicate with fresh ingredients. Feel free to mix up the assortment of berries any way you like; only blueberries or blackberries have enough flavour and texture once baked to be used on their own, though. Don’t try to crowd in extra berries or there might not be enough batter to cover them; and please use only a 1.9 litre baking dish or the layer of batter might be too
