Occasionally I am asked what is the best meal I have ever eaten or what is the best restaurant I have ever been to. I will never respond to such a question because a memorable meal is a product of several tangible and intangible factors: excellent food, capably and imaginatively prepared; exciting company; a pleasing environment; and, I suppose, the mood of the eater.
