The jalousie is a delicious fruit pastry similar to a strudel or a turnover. It is made by layering a fruit paste in between two sections of puff pastry and scoring lines across the surface to allow the steam to escape during baking. The name jalousie literally translates to “jealousy,” but this delicious pastry was not named because of people feeling jealous when you serve it. A jalousie is also a form of window shutter made from angled slates that block out light. The pastry is nam
